Beyond Housing appoints new director of customer service

The North East housing association Beyond Housing has appointed Chris Roberts as its new director of customer service.

Roberts arrives at the North East housing provider with years of customer service and housing experience, having previously worked for organisations such as Ocado, Barclayscard and Home Group.

Roberts most recently worked as head of contact centres for the software company Ocado, spending just over a year in the role.

Rosemary Du Rose, chief executive of Beyond Housing, said: “We are delighted to welcome Chris to the team. His knowledge and years of experience will be hugely valuable as we continue to put our customer service at the heart of our work.”

During his time at Ocado, Roberts led the software company’s transformation of its contact centre, looking after its 800,000 customers.

Roberts previously spent a number of years working in housing for the Newcastle-based Home Group, implementing and driving the housing association’s customer experience strategies.

Roberts’ appointment by Beyond Housing comes as housing associations place greater emphasis on customer service in the wake of the publication of the Social Housing White Paper.

Roberts said of his appointment: “I’m really looking forward to working with Beyond Housing as the business continues to grow and develop its services.

“The chance to work directly with customers to help create and improve the overall customer and digital experience is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to the communities we serve.”

Beyond Housing is one of the North East and North Yorkshire’s largest registered housing providers, owning and managing over 15,000 homes across the region.
