Metis Homes recently held a hard hat tour event at its Forest Edge Development in Fordingbridge, Hampshire. The event was arranged under special supervision to allow prospective purchasers to see the progress being made and have a sneak preview inside a select number of homes under construction.
The £21.5m scheme, where over 40% of the homes have already been sold off plan, is located on the outskirts of the picturesque riverside town, at the northern gateway to the New Forest. There are a total of 63 houses and apartments being built at Forest Edge, with the first homes ready for occupation from this spring.
Two spacious three-bedroom semi-detached houses are available within the first tranche of homes that will be completed during spring 2023. Both homes 12 and 13 offer 1,012 sq ft of premium accommodation – each benefiting from their own garage – and are priced at £420,000. A range of two-bedroom apartments, priced from £300,000, and four-bedroom detached family homes priced from £610,000, are also on release, in advance of build completion dates scheduled for summer and autumn 2023.

Close to the River Avon, and also near the Dorset and Wiltshire borders, the site is located off Salisbury Road and within walking distance of Fordingbridge town centre. The town has an array of independent bars, boutique shops, restaurants, convenience stores, schools, community, and leisure facilities, which are a short distance from the site entrance.

Moreover, the four-bedroom houses have the added benefit of solar PV panels, which will enable the future residents to generate a proportion of their own electricity use, significantly lowering their carbon footprint.
Internal specification features for the new homes include fibre broadband, and all flooring included, which is from a range of Karndean luxury vinyl flooring and premium carpet choices. Bathrooms feature contemporary sanitaryware and complementary Porcelanosa wall and floor tiles, while the designer kitchens have integrated white goods and Neff cooking appliances. All principal bedrooms will feature built-in wardrobes, while the four-bedroom homes will also benefit from built-in wardrobes to bedroom two.
