Housebuilder Avant Homes appoints new “customer experience” director to bolster growth

SHEFFIELD-based housebuilder Avant Homes has appointed Mark Phelan (pictured) to its newly created role of group customer experience director.

Phelan has more than 20 years’ experience in customer relations and research across a mix of sectors, including financial services, logistics, and residential property. He is tasked with strengthening the company’s customer services team across five regional businesses.

“It’s hugely exciting to become part of a company that has outstanding customer service at the heart of its business and has a culture of wanting to do the best it can for people at every stage of the house buying process,” Phelan said.

“As group customer experience director, I want to exceed expectations for our buyers and potential purchasers by working with the wider business to ensure we’re consistently delivering outstanding service to the highest of standards and, in turn, standing tall within the industry.”

Avant Homes employs over 700 people and has five regional offices located in Stirling, Scotland; Sunderland, North East England; Wakefield, Yorkshire; Chesterfield, Derbyshire and Nottingham in the Midlands.

The company currently has 59 developments under construction across its five operating regions. In 2018, the housebuilder announced plans to double its annual output to 4,000 homes a year while also becoming a £1 billion turnover business by 2023.

“Mark will be instrumental in ensuring that customer satisfaction continues to be at the heart of the business and will support our regional operations allowing them to consistently provide an excellent standard of service across all stages of the customer journey.”
