Karbon Homes has appointed Mitch Brown as its director of legal services, a new role within the organisation’s structure.

Mitch has worked in commercial law for the past 36 years, both in the North East and across the UK, and for the past 5 years has worked closely with Karbon Homes within his role as a consultant for northern commercial firm, Ward Hadaway LLP.

As director of legal services, Mitch will lead the development and delivery of effective legal services at Karbon, as well as advising the board and senior management teams on legal matters. This new role will shape the legal services provision across the organisation, to offer value for money advice and support across all Karbon functions.

Paul Fiddaman, group chief executive at Karbon Homes said: “We’re pleased to welcome Mitch to Karbon Homes as our director of legal services, to lead on the strategic development and the delivery of our legal services provision. With his wealth of knowledge of both legal services and affordable housing, alongside the many years he has worked closely with Karbon as our external legal services provider, he is ideally placed for this appointment. There are some exciting challenges ahead and I look forward to working with him as we go forward.”

Previous roles have included head of affordable housing at the firm that is now known as Womble Bond Dickinson and national head of practice for Eversheds. Mitch was also responsible for setting up the affordable housing practice of national listed firm, DWF Plc.

Speaking of his appointment, Mitch added: “I am delighted to have joined Karbon, an organisation that I really admire and which I have enjoyed working with over many decades.  The people are enthusiastic, professional and extremely impressive to work with, and with the changes that are happening in the sector, it’s an exciting time to become part of a great team.”

Brown joined the organisation on 1st September
