KIER Living Northern has ‘broken ground’ on a new development at Farington Moss in Leyland.
Senior directors officially cut the first sod for The Pastures, a development of two-, three- and four-bedroom homes on the outskirts of Leyland in South Ribble.
The site was recently bought by Kier Living as part of its joint venture with Homes England and Cross Keys Homes with full construction work due to begin on site this month.
Planning permission for 174 homes has been granted and as part of the investment, Kier Living is working closely with South Ribble Council to invest around £2 million towards local infrastructure services and affordable housing.
Sue Warwick, managing director for Kier Living Northern, said: “We are delighted to have broken ground at Farington Moss and look forward to work beginning this month.
“Farington Moss is a fantastic location and the mix of new build, high quality homes will benefit from a village setting with close links to the M6 and the rest of the North West.
“Kier Living is committed to investing in local communities and we look forward to working with key local stakeholders to make a positive contribution to the local economy from souring local contractors to investing in new infrastructure.”
