New procurement contract for office supplies launched

A new public sector framework has been launched that is claimed will help housing providers and their supply chain partners get a better deal on business supplies.

The framework was set up by District Homes CIC and is being managed by Pretium, a company that specialises in developing and managing frameworks on behalf of contracting authorities operating in the public sector across the UK.

The secure, OJEU compliant, total business supplies and tail end management framework is said to consolidate the full range of products and services into one supply contract, saving organisations time and money.

It covers the full range of products and services required to support the operational activity of a business, including general office supplies, paper, toner and cartridges, office furniture, catering and refreshments, office equipment, workwear, janitorial products and print.

“Supplies are often purchased by individual departments or business units and while this fragmented solution may meet the need of individual users it rarely provides good value for money for the organisation,” said Nick Hann head of frameworks at Pretium.

“Busy procurement teams often focus resources on high volume or high value areas leaving limited time to scrutinise the contractual arrangements and commercial terms on lower value categories.

“This framework was created to provide a strategic solution to this problem by engaging a single supplier to manage the supply of all business consumable products, removing the burden of administering numerous arrangements and allowing framework users to develop a relationship with their key logistics partner.”

The framework will be delivered by workplace supplies and services company, OfficeTeam.
