Not another housing minister? Malthouse replaces Raab

BLINK and you might miss his term of office, but Kit Malthouse MP has been shuffled into place as the latest minister of state for housing.

The move comes as part of Theresa May’s emergency reshuffle, prompted by the resignation of former Brexit secretary David Davis; he has been quickly followed out the door by foreign secretary Boris Johnson, who announced his resignation today.

Malthouse, MP for West Hampshire, replaces Dominic Raab as housing minister; he was previously a parliamentary undersecretary of state at the Department of Work and Pensions. Raab, meanwhile, has been promoted to the role of Brexit secretary after little more than six months as housing minister.
