A Merseyside landlord has celebrated the start of its largest development so far, with 49 new homes set to be delivered in Birkenhead.

Pine Court Housing Association (PCHA), part of the Sovini Group, is delivering the £6 million Livingstone Park scheme, which is situated near to the Cammell Laird 1907 Football Club stadium.

The scheme consists of 15 two- and three-bedroom houses, along with 34 one- and two-bedroom apartments. These will be offered for rent through Wirral Council’s choice-based lettings register, Property Pool Plus.

“The new homes which are set to support the demand for affordable housing on the Wirral have already received an unprecedented amount of interest,” said David Brown, PCHA’s director of operations.

“The Livingstone Park development has witnessed excellent collaborative working between Pine Court Housing Association and parent company, the Sovini Group to acquire the land and utilise in-house expertise to oversee the progress of the development. Additionally, we are working closely with contractors and the council to ensure high quality homes are delivered safely and on time.”

Councillor George Davies, Wirral Council’s cabinet member for housing and community safety, added: “I was delighted to visit the Livingston Park site and see the progress being made on this exciting new development, which will offer good quality, attractive and affordable social housing for rent in Rock Ferry.”

PCHA has appointed local contractor, MBE Construction, to build the new homes.

“Our partnership will bring much-needed social housing to the area, and will further enhance MBE Construction Ltd’s growing reputation as one of the North West’s leading housing construction companies,” said John Morris, the company’s chief executive.
