Salford’s Salix Homes applauds footballing success as Barr Hill Ladies FC tops the league

SALFORD’S Salix Homes has enjoyed some footballing success after its team of female players earned promotion in the local division.

The housing provider is a “proud” supporter of Barr Hill Ladies FC, which recently beat the odds to finish top of the Manchester FA Division Two Cup league, winning them promotion to Division One.

Mick Walsh, neighbourhood manager for Salix Homes, said: “Despite only forming 18 months ago as a way for local women to get fit and have fun, Barr Hill Ladies FC have certainly proved they’ve got the winning formula.

“Their success is testament to the skill and dedication of its organisers and players, and Salix Homes is really proud to support them and we wish them the best of luck as they move up into the next division.”

Salix has previously funded the team away kit as part of its Springboard community grants programme.

Since launching the grants programme last year, Salix has donated more than £50,000 to local groups and projects in the city.
