Welcome to Housing Executive

Our editor Chris Ogden welcomes you to Housing Executive, the new publication for professionals in the housing sector.

Hello and welcome to Housing Executive magazine.

Over the past few years, Northern Housing magazine worked alongside the North of England’s housing sector to build connections to help solve the region’s housing crisis. The magazine’s aim was to help connect housing professionals, spark debate, and be a supportive – and sometimes sceptical – friend to housing associations, registered providers, and local authorities across England.

Given the strange times we’re living through, we decided it was time to evolve into a national publication to better cover the wide range of ideas and aspirations of housing professionals. There are so many great stories worth celebrating – and investigating – across the housing sector. Housing Executive exists to share all of those with you.

Housing Executive’s website will bring you up to date news, exclusive interviews, and thought-provoking articles and insights from people in the housing sector. As a publication proudly based in Manchester, you can rest assured that we will still cover housing in the North of England with the same gusto that Northern Housing did before. We’re just extending our coverage to the Midlands and the South of England too. There will even be a smattering of news from Scotland and Wales.

Our site is divided into four sections. Places will focus on things happening in our local areas. People will feature exclusive interviews with and news about the housing sector’s current movers and shakers. Our Insight section will offer thought-provoking features and comment from experts in the sector, while Developments will cover the latest work taking place on the ground.

All this content will be collated in our quarterly magazine, available free of charge to all in print and online. Each edition will focus on the latest happenings in the sector, and the people working every day to deliver more and better homes in England.

Although COVID-19 has moved much online, we all know that face-to-face connection is what really drives things along. That’s why we’ll continue to host our regular housing leaders’ roundtables virtually for now, sparking conversations between CEOs, directors, and heads of department. We’ve got exciting plans in store for 2021 too, as we’ll be launching dedicated events for future leaders of the sector and more.

Housing Executive is above all a people-focused publication, so we’ll always welcome your ideas and suggestions for editorial contributions. You can email me, or our advertising, sponsorship and events team, using the details on our Contact page.

If you’re not already one of thousands of housing professionals subscribed to receive Housing Executive in print or online, or our weekly email bulletins, you can sign up now for free by visiting our Subscribe page. We’ll do our best to keep you up to speed with the latest from the housing sector.

Thanks for reading and I hope you’ll enjoy reading Housing Executive.
